A lawyer and mediator, Don has practiced law in Saskatchewan for over 40 years. He joined the firm after completing a BComm (1977) and LLB (1979), both at the University of Saskatchewan. He has been a practicing mediator since 1987 and is a member of both Mediation Saskatchewan and Collaborative Professionals of Saskatchewan. Don was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2016.

Don’s practice is concentrated in family law including issues involving family property, custody and access, and child and spousal support matters. He also maintains an active mediation practice.

Throughout his career, Don has been an active member of the community, having served on a number of committees and boards. These include the Meewasin Foundation, Saskatchewan Community Mediation Services, and the Canadian Mental Health Association (Saskatoon branch).

Don has given numerous presentations on family law and mediation for organizations such as Public Legal Education Association (PLEA) and the Canadian Bar Association. Don regularly volunteers his time to the legal advice clinic at Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City (CLASSIC). In 2011, Don received Pro Bono Saskatchewan’s volunteer service award for his service at its legal advice clinic.
